Banana Ice Cream (one ingredient)

Yields4 ServingsPrep Time10 minsCook Time1 hr 45 minsTotal Time1 hr 55 mins

Words can't describe this ice cream. It is absolutely amazing and so delicious. It's a really great way to use those bananas that are over-ripe and past eating. Instead of throwing them out, freeze them to make ice cream.

 4 ripe bananas
1

Peel the bananas and chop them into pieces.

2

Put the bananas in an airtight container or freezer bag for at least 2 hours, or leave overnight.

3

Transfer the frozen banana pieces to a food processor or high speed blender.

4

Blend the banana until the consistency becomes a smooth soft-serve ice cream texture. Blend for a few more seconds to aerate the ice cream (If adding a second ingredient like peanut butter or chocolate chips, this is the moment to do it).

5

Transfer to an airtight container and freeze until solid like traditional ice cream, or you can eat the ice cream immediately, but it will be quite soft.

6

Other suggested items to add to your ice cream:
- peanut butter
- honey
- handful of chocolate chips
- chopped almonds or walnuts
- cocoa powder (approx. 1 tbsp cocoa for each banana)
- cinnamon, cardamom, or ginger
- seeds
