Masirah Island - 18 March

Masirah Island welcomes you!

Milestone 9 -Distance: 1,193.3 km (24.5%) – 18th March 2021

So we continue along the east coast in a southerly direction catching a ferry to Masirah Island, the Sultanate’s largest island, which is rich in ecological diversity.

Rather unspoilt, this island is a haven to over 238 bird species, at least 3 types of turtle, including the 2nd largest Loggerhead Turtle nesting community in the world (estimated at 30,000-60,000), and a community of some 200 humpback whales.

It would be pretty special to see a whale wouldn’t it?

Don’t forget your carbon footprint – please take your litter away with you 🙂
